Lining Up With Your Natural Gifts

Nature's patterns are everywhere, showing us the beauty of order.  How well are you aligned with your natural gifts? Does your life reflect your use of your strengths and experience? Useful As Well As Ornamental

The gate is a symbol of possibility, of choice, and of drawing a distinction between places.  It is a beautiful addition to the landscape here, where it defines coming and going, and completes the staircase.  Form follows function, and the natural shades of the wood are pleasing to the eye, while creating the feeling that is desired. We have the option of creating definitions within our lives that follow these same principles.  Where the feelings are nourished, and beauty is honored, there is grace and we are able to relax, knowing that our humanity is valued.  Nature and human activity are in balance, well proportioned to create a sense of ease and balance to nourish creative thoughts and actions.
During my time in Big Sur, I have followed the guidance of nature in all things.  Living as I do in a wild environment, I am well aware that nature always has the last word, and make efforts to be in harmony with that, changing as needed to be more able to receive and pass along the messages of this magical place.

Rise to Your Highest Good

This young redwood tree is about 35 years old.  My son planted it as a tiny seedling, and now it is tall enough to sway in the breeze in the evening, casting a shadow across the yard behind the house.  It shows the power of aspiration and perseverance.  As you can see, it is rapidly getting larger than the surrounding oaks.  I like to think of it as a message about "rising above it".  Until this tree was planted, no redwood trees had grown at this elevation.  There's always a first time!  Do you have a symbol in your life of the power to rise?  Are you ready to use it as well as possible, for fuel to take you to the next level?  Symbols are powerful tools, useful to change our ideas about who we are and what we can do. They are like a hidden language of the soul.

Act III: The "Fixer-Upper" Idea?

What The Mask Keeps You From Seeing

When you are wearing a mask, it does two things:  It keeps the world from seeing you, and it limits the view you are able to have of the world.  The mask provides a feeling of safety, as "nobody knows" who you are.  This can be a comforting thing in times when things are difficult, when you may feel threatened in some way.  Yet, the mask also stops the flow of energy to and from the world, and so you are then limited by who you feel yourself to be behind it.  Safe, silent, unknown...

Is being "safe" good for you as a person?

Are you wearing a mask?  Most of us do, at least part of the time.  It can be hard to find the confidence to take off the feeling of safety and breathe the fresh air, feel the breeze of life's unknowns.  It's so worth it, though!  Letting yourself make the deeper connection to life that comes from letting go of your ideas about who you are and who you can become is such a gift to yourself, to those around you, and to the world.

Do You Hear your Heart's Wisdom?
