This young redwood tree is about 35 years old. My son planted it as a tiny seedling, and now it is tall enough to sway in the breeze in the evening, casting a shadow across the yard behind the house. It shows the power of aspiration and perseverance. As you can see, it is rapidly getting larger than the surrounding oaks. I like to think of it as a message about "rising above it". Until this tree was planted, no redwood trees had grown at this elevation. There's always a first time! Do you have a symbol in your life of the power to rise?
